Embossed leaves dance around the yoke and down the sleeves, against an understated background of reverse stockinette stitch to create a sweater that’s both classic and modern. Penelope is a round yoke cardigan with A-line shaping, worked seamlessly in one piece from the top-down. An I-cord belt functions as a closure and extends the leaf motif of the sweater with 3-dimensional leaves that are knit circularly, so both sides look the same. PDF pattern includes schematic with detailed measurements.

Designed to fit the 18” (46cm) American Girl or similar dolls with a chest circumference of approx. 11” (28cm) , such as Gotz, Australian Girl, Maplelea Girl, etc.

Supplies Needed:
- 1 ball of Knit Picks Palette - 100% Peruvian Highland Wool; Fingering weight (231 yds/211 m per 50g ball). Color 5769 Pennyroyal. Or suitable substitute yarn.
- Needles in US size 1 ½ (2.50mm): Circular needle (length is not important as it’s used to work back and forth in rows); Set of 4 or 5 DPNs. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
- 2 st markers
- Scrap yarn for holding sts
- Tapestry needle for yarn ends

Skill Level:  Intermediate - requires a knowledge of (or willingness to learn) basic knitting skills, increasing, decreasing, working in the round on DPNs, picking up stitches, and working I-cord.
