My jewellery skills started with training as a diamond setter in the late seventies. I later made my living from contract gem setting work as well as producing my own designs and commissions.
Over the last 15 years I have pursued a range of passions including learning the history of my Iwi and tupuna, which led me into a governance role for Ngai Tai ki Tamaki during our treaty settlement negotiations. I also became the ranger on Motuihe Island for a time before heading to Hawkes Bay and developing a tourism business.
I have recently returned to my workbench with a fresh approach to my work, exploring pacific symbology related to navigating life's journey. I am inspired by the creativity of my forebears.
