A portrait of disappointment if ever I saw one! Signed Palmer at lower left, it seems possible to me that this was done by Apache artist Ignatius Palmer (1922-1985), who studied at the Santa Fe Indian School and is best known for painting of Apache dancers; the signature here is a close match and both the subject and style seem plausible. In any event, wonderfully graphic and also quite poignant I think--and as far as paintings on fungus go, quite a crisp and concise one!.

3 5/8" w x 3" t x 2 3/4" d and in very good condition. It rests nicely on its own with just a more bit of lean back.
