For me this one is all about the whole package--those radiant green and gold parrots surrounded by that luxe feeling metallic gold mat, and then more gold on the interior edge of the frame, and then this very striking sort of faux wood grain marbling on the face of the frame. Altogether it packs quite a visual punch and makes this pair of love birds feel like the most prized and regal creatures ever!  With a little research I've learned that they are West African red-faced love birds (Agapornis pullarius), and that this is a color woodcut engraving by Alexander Francis Lydon for W.T. Greene, Parrots in Captivity, Vol. 1 (1884), one of three highly prized volumes. 

15" x 13" framed. A bit of loss to the surface lacquer on the frame along the edges in a couple of spots and aging to the gold mat, neither do I personally find detracting. Glorious rich color to the wood engraving. Stable and sound, wood backing on the frame, wired for hanging.
