The 14th Ranger Battalion, also known as the 14th Infantry Battalion ("Avenger"), has a rich history dating back to its activation on August 1, 1950. It was initially formed to combat the Hukbalahap Guerrillas and has since evolved into a unit of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, assigned to the Philippine Army. The battalion has participated in various campaigns, including the campaigns against the Huks and the Philippine contingent sent to Korea, as part of UN forces. It was reactivated in 1973 to address the rise of the Moro National Liberation Front rebellion and has since been involved in operations in Mindanao.
