Yo everybody! Meet Ben and Jess circa 2020 v2.0. This is Monica and Chris, met in recovery, went through some suck together, found a way to thrive together. They’re both rock stars, but today’s post is gonna focus on Monica because she’s got a not-so-small problem that we need your help with.

Monica had a childhood that would rip your guts out if you heard it (maybe one day she’ll tell it all and you can), grew up in foster care, and unsurprisingly early adulthood didn’t go as one would want it to.

Addiction and jail derailed things but got her attention.

We met her on the tail end of her journey through the Drug Court program in Memphis, which she graduated with flying colors and not one single infraction. We knew she was going to go on to do great things, and we were right.

Today, Monica is the live-in senior resident at our women’s house in Memphis. She handles intakes, guides newly arrived girls into a program of recovery, assists in finding them work, leads by example, holds them accountable, the list goes on.

We can’t do what we do for women without Monica doing what she does…which brings us to our problem:

Early yesterday morning, somebody stole her car from the street in front of our women’s house. This marks the second vehicle stolen from two houses in six days. Opposite ends of Memphis, zero connection or correlation, just highlighting how bad the wave of car thefts is getting.

She needs that car. We need her to have that car.

She’s not high maintenance so we’d like to get her in a car that matches her - not old, dependable, reliable, not easy to run off with, but doesn’t have to be perfect.

We’re shooting to raise $5k as quick as humanly possible, and
we will certainly be equipping everybody else’s vehicles with Apple AirTags 😂
